Prado Café Now Open at Southlands
As we prepare to welcome the public to the Southlands community on 19 September 2020, we are pleased to announce that locally-owned Prado Café will be moving into our neighbourhood!
In celebration of our fall launch and the first café to join our community, Prado Café will be opening its doors on September 19. As we welcome the public to our Southlands Discovery Centre, Prado Café will be right next door serving up delicious beverages and locally sourced dishes!
The interior of Prado Café will be in keeping with the feeling that will come with walking around the Southlands community. The interiors will be light and airy but will also bring some cottage and beach inspired elements into the setting. This space will be carefully curated to be an organic and natural design that compliment this community that is rooted in food and farming. This warm and bright cottage-style design welcomes a quick coffee stop or a sit-down hangout where family and friends can catch up over local bites and fresh coffee.
The menu will be in keeping with Prado Café locations around the lower mainland and feature some of their most loved items such as their “Famous Cookie with no Name”, the Raspberry Bar, Jackie’s Birthday Cake, Homemade Croissants, and vegan food options including the Vegan Apricot Cookie, the Breakfast Cookie, and lunchtime favourites including the Avo Smash on homemade toast, wraps, and freshly made sandwiches. The team is also working on creating some menu items that will incorporate some of the local, seasonal, produce and will be entirely unique to the Southlands location.
We designed this neighbourhood around the natural spaces, parks, and beach that will draw together a vibrant community. It’s no exception that those elements are showcased in our cafés and restaurants.

Known and popular for their locations in Vancouver, Surrey and Burnaby, Prado Café is now expanding into the Tsawwassen area with its 8th location. Over the next few months, this space will transform into an energetic and blissfully shared spot for the community.
Community connection is important to Prado Café. Our slogan is ‘proud to serve the city we love’. This is true for all of our neighbourhoods but the opportunity to be part of a growing community, from the ground up, that is committed to farming, food, and families is incomparable.
Sammy Piccolo, Owner, Prado Café
The Market District will service the community and beyond with farmers markets, restaurants, cafés, shops and services, that creates opportunities for local farmers, increases local food supply, and connects community to locally grown and produced foods. Making for an accessible and walkable community with gardens, and greenspaces abound.
We look forward to welcoming you to Southlands on September 19 & 20 for Market Tours and while you’re headed to Prado Café, pop your head into the Southlands Discovery Centre to say hi to the real estate sales team!
