Centennial Beach

Undoubtedly one of the main draws to our beautiful community is the stunning beachfront that Southlands residents have just steps from their homes. The orange and pink sunrises reflected on the ocean’s surface are unparalleled, the adventure sports abound, and mother nature offers endless details to behold on the shorelines. Paired with the fact that Tsawwassen is one of the sunniest spots in BC, our beaches are the anchor of our community and provide Southlands residents with ample reason to frequent the outdoors, enhancing their sense of wellbeing.

Centennial Beach is a long sandy beach and just a short walk from Southlands Tsawwassen.

For adventure-minded folks, Tsawwassen offers world renowned wind surfing at two of its beaches including Boundary Bay, which is just steps from Southlands. For those who are less speed-inclined but still want to get out onto the ocean, stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) and kayaking are a favourite activity among locals and offer a more relaxed pace for riding the surface of Tsawwassen’s waters. For those who prefer to remain in shallow water, skimboarding the lengthy shoreline is another favourite activity at Boundary Bay.

Of course, the beach itself is a favourite place to pass time. Leisurely strolls year-round are common for those who live in Tsawwassen, whether it’s to soak in the summer sun or to catch a stormy and fresh breeze while bundled up in the cooler months with a cup of Prado coffee in hand. Dog owners, in particular, enjoy the year-round beachfront as it offers their pets a vast space to run free and many of the residents with canine companions know one another due to their frequent sandy strolls.

For families, full days can be spent and time passes by quickly with tide pool exploration, sand castles, barbeques and bocce. Curious kids are endlessly entertained on the shores of Boundary Bay and they grow up with the sand and salt as their way of life. Carefree play and exploration at the beach are where many play dates and family memories are made for the families that live in the Southlands community.
